Summer Break

I have finally completed a week of summer vacation without any PD or summer camps.  I decided that this past week I wasn't going to do anything productive.  I wanted a week of just hanging out with my daughter, reading, and watching TV.  I also threw in some shopping.  I'll start with the hanging out with my daughter..we painted using condensed milk mixed with color.

She is showing me her hand with paint on it.  She does not like to have anything sticky on her hand.  She wanted me to wipe it off.

Her masterpiece
Now would I do this again..probably not.  It took forever to dry.  I'm sure if she hadn't caked on the paint it would've dried faster but she is 22 months so that isn't going to happen.  You can't tell from the picture but the paint is shiny.

She really enjoyed painting so I might have to give in and actually go get paint.

It actually rained which doesn't happen very often in south Texas so I decided to take advantage and let her play in the rain.

After she dried off, I put some new clothes on her and decided to let her go outside in the rain with an umbrella (brella as she she calls it).

I have enjoyed this week with her.  Thank goodness we have a lot more weeks of summer left.

I have started planning her 2nd birthday.  The theme is going to be a Minnie Mouse Picnic.  Once I start putting things together I will take pictures.

I read a book this past week and I can honestly say it was one of the funniest books I have read.  It actually made me laugh out loud.

Love... From Both Sides (A laugh-out-loud romantic comedy)

Here is the book description from Amazon: Sometimes, the hardest part of finding love is keeping a straight face...

For Jamie Newman, being a single guy isn't proving to be much fun, especially when confronted with a sexually belligerent divorcee and a goddess so far out of his league she might as well be a different species.
Mind you, being a girl in search of love isn't a bowl of cherries either. Just ask Laura McIntyre, who's recently contended with a horny estate agent on a quest for light relief and a rabid mountain bike enthusiast with a penchant for displaying his genitals.
When Jamie and Laura bump into one another (quite literally) it looks like their luck may have changed - but sometimes finding the right person is only the start of your problems...

Based on real-life tales of dating disaster and relationship blunders, Love... From Both Sides is a warts-and-all romantic comedy for everyone who knows how tricky (and occasionally ridiculous) the quest for love can be.

Now on to the TV watching...I'm excited because my summer shows have started..Royal Pains, and Neccessary Roughness.  Army Wives will be starting soon too.  :-)  A new show has started on ABC Family called Bunheads. I have only watched two shows but it seems interesting.

Well time to wrap things up, my daughter is waking up from her nap.
