Pinterest Party

I hosted a Pinterest Party this past December with some of my teacher friends. We had a blast! There was a lot of things going on at the party.  Everyone was to bring a Pinterest inspired food and gift item.  Then we made a craft inspired from Pinterest.

Here are pictures of the food.

This was very festive!!

This was good too.  I love dips!

I don't remember what this was but I remember it being good.

OMG! This was delicious!!!!  If I remember correctly white chocolate and peppermint bark popcorn!!

Pumpkin Fluff with Ginger Snaps

Farley brought this...Chic Fil A nuggets.  She was allowed. She had surgery the day before.

The Pinterest inspired craft was a message board.  We took a cookie sheet which already had holes drilled into them and spray painted them.  (Thank you Mr. Kelley)  Once they were dry we put ribbon through the holes to hang them.

While we wanted for the spray paint to dry, we made magnets.   Diane and Rachel brought all their craft stuff for us to choose from.  There were buttons, dominos, scrabble tiles, fabric flowers..pretty much anything you could think of to turn into a magnet, they had.  THANK YOU, Daine and Rachel!!!

After we made our message boards, we exchanged gifts white elephant style.

This is what I stole!!  I absolutely LOVE snowmen!!!

Everyone that came with the gifts we all got!!

It was so much fun!!! We are talking about doing this every couple of months.

December Currently and Holiday Stuff

So it is that time again..here lately the only time I post.  Sorry!  It is Currently time..

This Thanksgiving we went to my husband's aunt's house in La Grange, TX.  The kids really enjoyed it.  Here are some pictures.

We decided this year we would start Elf on the Shelf.  Our elf arrived the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

He was waiting on our Christmas train. He brought them the movie Arthur's Christmas.

We named him Arthur which came from the movie he brought us.

He also brought us breakfast.

Also that Saturday morning we painted with Santa.  Santa had added his handprint to a plate and then we added the kids' handprints to it.  Then they painted a snowman ornanment. Santa arrived to take pictures and with a little surprise..reindeer ears.

 Concentrating really hard!

Waving to Santa from far away was perfectly fine but as soon as we go close she didn't want to touch him.

We convinced her to go touch Santa's bell bracelet and she was ok with that but as soon as she touched it she was gone.

We saw our friend, Hallie, there!

First thing is first..HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  I know it is a little late.  Here is my daughter dressed up as Tinkerbell!

For a project at school, the kids had to turn a pumpkin into a character from a book they were reading. They came out very cute!!! Here are some pictures of my class' pumpkins.

On another note..I sold my first item on TpT!!!!!!!   I'm so excited!!!!  I can't believe someone actually bought something from my store.  :-)  I was grinning ear to ear when I got the notification on my phone.

October Currently

I know it has been awhile.  I haven't been on here since before school started.  I don't know how people keep up with their blogs and do everything else.  I'm exhausted by the time I get home from work, I play with Addi and sometimes make dinner.  My husband is the cook in the house.   When I put Addi to bed...I go to bed.  So I don't have time.  For all of you that can keep up with your daily lives and your blog..I'm really impressed and give you four stars!

So the school year..well it has been a rough start to the year for a couple of reasons.  I have a class of talkers.  Trying to get them to realize there is a time and place to talk has been a real struggle.  My friend and teacher that has been with me since I started teaching volunteered to leave our school so her daughter could stay.  Both mother and daughter worked at our school.  We didn't have enough students so we lost two teachers to other schools.  It was and still is sad!

I know I'm a little late but here is October's currently.

Farley introduced Scarecrow Pete to me last year.  I loved it!!  I can't wait to read it this year.

If you haven't already go link up to Farley's page.

One of my goals this summer was to finally put a lesson up on Teachers Pay Teachers.  I didn't get to do that before school started but I finally have a lesson up on Teachers Pay Teachers.  It is a measurement lesson that I put together last school year for 3rd and 4th grade.  I'm sure everyone has heard or done something like it before.  It is called Measurement Games.  The students will participate in events where they will have to measure using a ruler or a scale. They will measure in customary units. After all the results are in, the students will convert the gold medal results into inches, feet, ounces, and pounds. There is some prepping to do but I listed all the materials you need. In the lesson, I give a day by day account of what to do.  I made medals for the students. I'm really excited that I finally put something on Teachers Pay Teachers!!!

I am going to try my hardest to keep up with this but if I don't please don't hold it against me. :-)

Birthday Party

My daughter's birthday was last week.  I have been focusing on her party for the last couple of weeks.  We had a Minnie Mouse party.  We asked everyone to wear their favorite Disney character.

On her actually birthday my husband took off and we spent the day with her. We went to her gym class and afterwards went to Morgan's Wonderland.  She loved it.  Of course we had cake.  Here are some pictures from that night.

Her party was this past weekend.

The invitation I sent out.
The decorations

Blowing the candles out and eating the cake at her birthday party

I can't believe it has already been 2 years.  It has gone way too fast!!!

Now it is time to focus on work.  We go back to work on Wednesday.  I have already been up to my classroom several times.  Once I have everything set up I will take pictures.  I'm headed there now.
